I think these should be rewards for taking intel, because taking it is nigh pointless now.

They have mods of army heli and civilian versions.

Ammo and health crates should randomly be found on dead players -- either a health crate or ammo crate will spawn.

I believe logistics in the game should vary dependent on gamemode

Territorial control: The ammo will automatically spawn in the same grid as the capture point, this gives the team setting up an incursion in the other teams CP, while capturing it, the advantage. But It also encourages defensive team play, as they will also want to defend if the other team is going to blitz.

CTF: Enemies drop their remaining ammo and blocks for the killer, or teammates to use (possibly weapon switch outs with one the enemy had) as well as capture bonus delivering a fresh ammo and health crate, as well as more blocks, encouraging players to capture the flag

I don't know..this is all I can think of for the moment

That isn't true. We can have the helicopters drop the crates. No such thing as "too much coding" as well.

You could make it "class" based, i.e. give an ammo crate to shotgun users, a medic crate to assault users and I dunno...something...um...snipery to sniper users.

As for placing the crates i think grenades should be turned into a misc slot where you could pick either a placeable health crate which slowly heals people near them
the ammo crate which slowly restocks ammo
or the grenades we all know and love

I'm pretty sure OpenGl will be replacing the current client, it won't be a separate download. Unless I missed something.

Green there is a script some server's run that make capturing the case more fun. The script is called Intel Rpg.

If aloha intel rpg server is still around they run it.
It is not very stable from when I have ran it on my server. It worked but the server eventually would crash.

And besides this is a thread about suggestions on how to implement the crate's not on the intel keep it on topic please =P.

I would like to add that the crates be team support oriented. So if we did go with 6 kills = airstrike and or airsupport. Then just type /airsupport C5 to send supplies to your team mates. Have the crate's colored according to there team color. So a health crate for green team would be green base colored. Blue team's would be blue or however you have your team color's set in the server. That way if an enemy seen your team's support crate they would not bother picking it up because the color would tell them it won't be pick up able for them. And we could still have the blue and green chopper's have left click for dropping 1 airstrike and right click for 1 airsupport or something along those lines.
