So many people complaining about Semi's.

i think semis could use a slight bullet spread buff so that it would be mroe rare that you aim at osme bodys face 5 times in a row and they still miss going wich ever direction they feel. Yes that has happened to me.

I agree, .70 weapons WERE perfect.

Shotgun could reliably kill people at 20 blocks away in one shot, SMG could take people out from afar ONLY if you knew what you were doing, and RIFLE was perfect. If they want to nerf the rifle the only thing that should happen is decrease its RoF. Aside from that it should be pinpoint, just don't be an idiot and run around in the open.

I think all the people complaining about rifle accuracy frequented the servers that hosted the pinpoint/assault maps, either that or they were just really bad players.

.70 balance was like this

Rifle = long range destruction, and could handle close quarters only if you were skilled and the other players wasn't (why not just increase hipfire spread? I dont think people would complain, and it would stop panic head shots at close range

SMG = Great mid distance weapon, just pop fire and you killed people in just a second or two. But it actually took skill and getting a head shot did 50 instead of SEVETYF***INGFIVEDAMAGE!!! so not only did it prevent easily 2-shotting people, but it kept you from being fodder to all of the other weapons if you were unlucky enough to get shot in the head once. It was also great for spraying small groups on enemies in close quarters.

Shotgun = Close range killer. And since we know AoS is a BIG game with BIG maps it didnt have to have call of duty ranges to be considered "fair". If you knew what you were doing and sneaked up on people, you could take somebody down in 2-3 shots up to 60 blocks away. No, it couldnt "snipe" you, and no it didnt outclass the SMG/Rifle as they both could kill you faster at those ranges. But its tight spread also meant you could kill people at 30 blocks without having to worry about missing COMPLETELY with 5 out of 6 shots, only to be magically 1 shotted by an enemy using shotgun at a farther distance!

Seriously, ben must've been smoking something when he decided to turn the shotgun into roulette weapon.

Honestly? I enjoy running around from cover to cover without 100% accuracy snipers taking me out the second I move.

I want to be able to move without entrenched snipers always killing me in one shot. The shot wander makes the rifle less effective at extremely long range (fog range), and I'm fine with that (As a matter of fact I've still been headshot by it at fog range). You have SIXTY GOD DAMN BULLETS. TWO to THREE of them MINIMUM will kill someone. STOP COMPLAINING. I'll finish my work today, go all rifle today, and dominate charts all day long on any server you choose that isn't a sniper fodder map (personal preference, since you don't really need any skill to shoot into a wall of flesh).

I'll post it in this thread, just to make you stop complaining. The only trouble I have with the SMG/Rifle is shooting at fog range, and shotgun is just bad and unpredictable, so it's invalid.

It isn't the games fault you can't use cover properly. Now with click & drag, creating a perfectly good cover is rediculously easy and quick. Alternatively, you could wait until some other deuce runs into the no-mans land an creates distraction, so you can pick them off without worrying being shot.

The only reasons somebody would think its hard to move around without getting "picked off" at fog distance is because they either don't know how to use cover properly, they don't know how to advance into new territory properly, or they are playing on maps like pinpoint or assault where 20 players are constantly aiming at the only half acre plot of land you can advance from (the biggest reason those maps suck)

All of these reasons are further proof why us vets say only noobs complain about rifle being too accurate.
Heres a news flash, YOU CAN TAKE THEM OUT FROM FOG DISTANCE TOO WITH SOME SKILL!

They can still take you out from afar, now its just luck based. So you could be shooting 4 times at a guy at fog distance and not hit him once, only for him to get lucky and pop you the first go! THATS why all of the GOOD players complain about rifle accuracy drop, it takes away the element of skill at long ranges, and if anything makes the game more IMBALANCED!

Heck, I've even made some long distance headshots BECAUSE of the bullet pancakes onto target, when I would've normally missed! At ranges of 90 blocks are more, rifle becomes luck gun.

even in other games that are more realistic you can always calculate bullet drop or bullet sway.

In the end, it all comes down to the player. You could have the best gun in the world, but if you are a player with no experience and no skill, you could end up with a ratio of 0. People need to stop worrying about the weapons, and start worrying more about their skill as a player. This thread is just a excuse to why you aren't doing as well as you supposedly once were. Also, why are you hating on ben? He is the reason you are playing this game in the first place.

Well, all I can say, is that while I think the smg needs a nerf, I wouldn't mind as much if they didn't buff the rifle.

Yeah, this is brought up quite often, and I can pretty much agree with most people here.

SMG needs a slight nerf.
Shotty needs an overall buff
Semi is okay.

Semi and smg are the same gun.....did I mean for the first SMG to be a rifle?

Ummmm no man,

The semi is the rifle - semi-automatic
The smg is the machine gun - sub machinegun

Semi should be 100% accurate at stand/crouch and Shit accuracy at movement. Also Rof is to high makes it a hold mouse and spray noob weapon it must be nerfed.

Yeah, I actually agree with Putin. It should have a great accuracy while crouching, a bit less accuracy when standing, and it loses accuracy quickly when walking.I don't really think it is necessary to nerf the RoF, but making it properly semi-auto, not fully automatic would be kinda nice. Wouldn't matter much though, as most people do not keep their finger on the mouse, the recoil would throw them off their target.

^
Like I said once

Run/Jump = Shit acc like 30%acc
Walk(the silent walking) 50%acc ( Got it from CS ) if you sneak slowly you are normally more accurate would make it much more used.
Stand = 90% or 95% like... on fog range it spread should be like 1 or 1.5 blocks from the dot"
Crouch 100% acc Show your ACC :D

Also the Rof Thing maybe it should stay if it gets like we said ^ up .

So how is a rifleman went to react if moving makes him shit accurate? If a smg user comes around the corner, you don't want to crouch in front of him. Besides, at this point, for me at least, moving shots are waaaaay easier than non moving shots. Moving also makes me less likely to die.

^ If a smg gets around the corner then you will die its a smg and you got a semi/sniper.
You could stand and shot him cause its near same acc as crouch or learn to use the rifle for what its designed to snipe people not to kill smg's at close.
