Kill it with fire... now it's just one more thing that covers up the whole screen. At least before you could see.

Ben, rule of thumb; if it's working, don't try to fix it, because every time you do things seem to get irreparably worse.

FYI, those network optimizations you promised are broken. Worse than before, actually. Go, fix them. When you're done with that, we have some griefers and Polazilians we need you to deal with.

EDIT: At a second glance, you added a ping feature. I like that. Don't misinterpret that. Keep it as transparent as it is now.

Why does it matter? Are you constantly walking around with tab pressed down?

This comment really embodies my thoughts on this. I am going to be tweaking the transparency of the background if it turns out to be a problem, so no worries.

No, but why am I going to bother shacking up just to figure out a griefer's player number?

It just seems like an unnecessary change. The idea isn't actually *bad* (I react to everything with a doomsayer spirit, soz D:), it just seems like something that's going to be difficult to get used to and not really requiring attention. Polishing of a game should occur after the basic functionalities have been ironed out (IE, NETWORK OPTIMIZING PLOX)

Me liekie, now you can easily see who the kills/deaths belong to without trying multiple times to visualize the lines..
Hate to do that, especially in CS 1.6

I like it. 95% of the time we don't look at it anyway so if it blocks the screen no big deal.

While I do agree that increasing transparency is somewhat redundant as the time spent looking at the player list is minimal, there is still a chance to get jumped during that small period. From a purely competitive perspective, any HUD element that blocks your view will reduce your performance by the amount directly proportional to the amount of the screen blocked divided by the time blocked. For the player list, this'll be tiny but still very capable of killing you when used at the wrong moment.

bcoolface has said that he likes the idea of there being 64 player servers, but he is going for quality over quantity and so 64 players won't make it into the 1.0 release, but maybe one day.
