Click and Drag

For all things AoS!

'tis true, but some popular servers go unmoderated for hours at a time. Maybe you could unlock the ability after a certain number of kills (not streak) and/or objective caps?

I like click and drag, its clean and still has decent risks.

I don't like the suggestion by danhezee about creating a rectangle from 2 points, way too easy to make mass cover with way less risk.

Lets see how click and drag works out. My feeling is that SMG may need a buff to keep up.

Awesome idea, But as the admin said you should add building rights, and possibly a moderator right ingame for people on the look out for griefers and hackers.
other than that, +1 For Click+Drag.
You'll see me ingame. Mostly Chicago.

This works perfect. Kind of a counter to the SMG, in a sense.

Even then, I think instantly building walls is just too much. Even with the current line click and drag, it wouldn't take too long to make a wall layer by layer, it doesn't need to be any faster than that.

Click and drag is going to be bad. This honestly won't stop people from running and gunning, they're going to do that regardless, because click+drag will still take up some of their precious running time. This game just keeps getting more and more casual, and I just don't like it. The game had so much potential from the onset. Who needs teamwork when it takes 10 seconds to build a base on your own with C+D? Ben needs to stop adding things like this and killstreaks that hinder teamwork, because this game isn't supposed to be about running and gunning and going around by yourself with no need for help, it's supposed to be more tactics based than that. /rant

All killstreaks are 3rd party mods. I would like to shy away from killstreaks to unlock features.

I think that the click and drag building would really encourage the main feature that ace of spades brought to the fps genre. Building. Right now, i don't know many people who build things (good bases). I don't, and the main reason is because it takes FOREVER. When and if this is implemented, i think it will get more people into the strategy of building. Now bases will occur more often, and it will make the ga,e,e harder.

Just my personal opinions. Please no hate.

Click+Drag

Postby PXYC » Sun Jan 22, 2012 11:49 pm

I think that Click+Drag is a great idea, but I don't know how well it will work out. Firstly, I know for a fact that it will become a form of griefing. Deuces (*sniffles*) are going to come in, realize that they can do it, and then spam hot pink blocks all over the spawn. I'm not sure if this is being implemented already, but I think there should be a limit on how large of a structure you will be allowed to make, similar to the limit on Danko's floor script.
Discuss.

I doubt this will work well, this will only give minecraft players better tools to make them c00l castles at A1.

And cool castles at the front lines, and be able to quickly repair those castles.

It's just casualizing the building process, like how he casualized movement with auto-climb.
This game used to have meaning.

can you elaborate on the meaning? What is the essence of Ace of Spades?

essence being the attribute or set of attributes that make an object or substance what it fundamentally is, and which it has by necessity, and without which it loses its identity.

I disagree, just because I am pressing less buttons doesn't mean I am doing less.

Removing micromanagement means I can concentrate on the bigger picture.
