Sigh.... more additions that take away from the original gameplay of Ace of Spades.
Spectate on Death

Wha... what? Why? Why would you do this? Why? Now people can't hide in a spot and shoot anymore.. that's the main strategy of Ace of Spades and always has been. There was even a poll... only 6% of voters wanted this implementation. Seriously. That is the definition of not listening to the community.

Ace of Spades Beta 0.75 changelog:

-added click+drag building with right-click
-spectate on death
-weapons now do different block damage
-spade is stronger against blocks (2 hits)
-minor shotgun/SMG improvements
-added ejected bullet casings
-tweaked particle effects
-no more pixelation on turning or lookin up/down
-better connection error messages
-localization fixes (fixed translations and characters converted)
-less annoying respawn beeps
-grab block color is now mappable (default key: e)
-wave respawning every 30 seconds
-tighter server network loop
-killed heavyweight library dependencies

Just for lazy folks who don't like clicking links.

I think it means you can fly around the map when you die. If the re spawn waves are 30 seconds, then for that time people will be able to watch the battle.

I don't think its like the battlefield thing where it shows exactly where the person is that killed you.

The poll is good data. We understand the community's opinion on this, but for first implementation and due to the hard-coded nature of voxlap and the development thus far, it's easier to do spectate on death rather than a whole team. However, it's likely that a separate team will be added in future releases.

woah, didn't think about spectate on death in that way...
If the magority doesn't want it, then we don't implement it.
Come one ben... why do you keep wanting to kill the stealth and sneaky aspects of the game...

Im kind of worried about the shotgun/smg buffs, on death spectating and wave respawning. Im assuming Wave respawning means I pretty much have to wait for that interval to spawn right? like I have to wait 30 seconds to spawn if i just miss the last spawn?

Probably to give people long enough time to spectate, but short enough not to gain too much information.

The only problem i foresee with using OpenGL is that chams hacks will be much easier to make.
