Instant kill and pinpoint accuracy vrs a faster rate of fire, less damage and a decent sized cone, which of these two are better at range?
Rainbows871 wrote:With the old speed the SMG would be a better snipers weapon than the semi. As it is on an open field (which way too many custom maps are these days) a good SMG player can kill a semi at long distance. If the speed was nerfed so it was slower than the current speed but not nerfed so heavily as it was in the first attempt then it would be acceptable.
Speed doesnt matter at all if you actually connect a shot, it was
buffed for sniping but of course people get angry when it slows down because its no longer the definite best weapon in the game, now its only somewhat the best weapon in the game.
Rainbows871 wrote:Close Quarters Combat is so rare though, some custom maps have it and on large maps it's possible to circle around the enemy and shoot then in the back but otherwise there is no real place for a dedicated close quarters weapon.
If it was somehow buffed with stronger mid range power it might start having more use.
Or you can change the map to be more beneficial to shotgun in by building. Just saying.

Yes, the shotty should have the same attributes it had in 0.60.
1)CQC is common for me
2)reverting to .6 would be a massive nerf from what we have now.

Its fine as it is. It already has the ability to kill two people in one shot (I think since the recent damage buff it can actually drop 3 people) and its med range is fine. The problem is the other weapons fucking leak onto all the ranges rather than being "close-med-long" so people feel the shotgun has to be brought up rather than simply bringing the other weapons down.
Varun wrote:Simox has a point. My view, in this at least, will be unbiased. The shotgun is next to useless. On pinpoint I charge with the semi, and slaughter the enemy. Like how a person would with a shotgun. Except I don't use the shotgun. Shotgunners are almost discounted as a variable in battle. People often just walk by, or ignore a nearby shotgunner, choosing instead to kill the lurking riflemen who are even closer. While I'm perfectly fine with the semi being op, this isnt really how it should be.
I think your entire statement became useless when you started basing this on an experience on pinpoint with a rifle.

Shotgun needs a buff.
SMG is fine how it is.
Rifle needs a small nerf, I think the spread is good. I have learned how to use it and it can be helpful in situations.
In other words: Keep the SMG and Rifle as they were in 0.75 but keep the 0.76 shotgun.
So youre saying we should nerf smg and give the rifle a cone? (Btw, shotgun is fine)
