According to Mat, the OpenGL version will run better than the Voxlap version.Pvtrex wrote:What are the system requirements for vesion 1.0? I love the fact that you can play aos on Grandma rigs and I'm thinking of buying version 1.0 but I'm afraid my pc won't be able to run it. So what do you guys think about how high the system requirements for version 1.0 are?

I never knew Marines were fighting THAT much terrorist polaks and brazilians.

Who's the idiot? Me or Mat/Ben?HoboHob wrote:IDIOT! Do you know that some computers don't actually have graphics cards? And did you also know that 50% of the community are here because they can't play other FPS games because they don't have graphics cards?
If Ben and Mat had any brains they would still support voxlap in 1.0.
I am fairly sure my computer will run it no problem, but if it doesn't I will be very mad.

Also, I think that every modern computer at this time has a graphics card. >.>

That'd be the early '90s, if we're talking about graphics cards in the modern sense. Most, if not every single home PC sold during the 2000's at least have a chipset-integrated graphics adapter. Some readers might remember the term "3D-accelerator".
Driver support for OpenGL 2.0 has been available for most ATi/AMD GPUs released after 2002 and most nVidia GPUs released after 2003. Basically this means Radeon 9500 and GeForce 5200 onwards. This includes integrated chipsets as well.
I'm not saying all these cards will run AoS 1.0, because I have no clue about that. I'm saying these cards support OpenGL 2.0.
Here's a couple of nifty lists to check if your chip supports OGL2.0

If you don't know your GPU, the TechPowerUP GPU-Z is a handy tool for finding it out.

And an Intel Integrated Chip, IIRC, is a GPU. Its a Graphics Processing Unit.

I don't see how wanting to use a new engine because it'll run smoother and will be multi-platform is stupid.
What makes me an idiot? Please, do tell.HoboHob wrote:All three.
