Server considered "popular?"

Postby Abizaga » Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:44 pm

Hello, first off, I don't want to brag, I just dont know why I dont feel good about this, for some reason. I'm not trying to be egotistical, and I'm not trying to get attention. Thank you.

Ok, so I run a server, and it always has an influx of people. It's 32 slots, and when I check up on it it usually has between 12-24 people, or sometimes, it's full. I just don't know if it's a bunch of random players joining, or if I could actually consider it to be a "popular" server. What do you think?

Well I know a lot of servers sit on 32/32 all day long.

But you should make a script to check the activity every 30 minutes or so and save it to a log file, then you can see if it is just 12-24 when you are on, and when you aren't (for example when you sleep) it is down to 3 guys.

But it is probably popular with some people at least for it to stay at a decent activity level.

hmmm, I see, so I pretty much was right. I wouldn't know how to make a script like that one, but if I went to be right now' it's at about 24. Anyway, I guess I was probably right, and it's just random people joining.
