Ban*

And bans are incredibly easy to evade, unless a full range is banned.

Take a look at the applicant's posts before accepting them. Generally if they are spamming caps and complaining (even if the application is good) you don't want them in your clan.

Also, don't be afraid to kick somebody. Carnage is a cool guy and I liked him, but the officers decided he just didn't fit in right. (And Carnage, we have nothing personal against you =) ) Remember, leaders can get booted as well. We have a article in the constitution that says that any of the leaders (including myself and Booyo) CAN be removed.

Overdoing your hierarchy.

Personally, I believe that if a clan starts out with anything more than "leadership", "members", and "preliminary recruits", it's overdoing it. Heck, <@> doesn't even have the "leadership" rank (there's a de-facto leader but that's it).

This might also be regarded as "Overhyping your clan", which could cover more than just this.

Yes. I see lots of clans with more ranks than members, it's a mess.

Way back when USAB had A LOT of ranks (here they are from 2010 I believe: https://sites.google.com/site/usabclan/ ... ing-system ) Let's just say it was a train wreck.

Oh God that was terrible. Then I came up with a new system that was possibly worse.

Half the site was dedicated to ranking: https://sites.google.com/site/theusairborneclansite/
And these were our ranks: https://sites.google.com/site/theusairb ... eam-roster

Lol Derrick is still on that roster.

USABxBOOYO: This guide is very useful to those who wish to start up a clan, and want to actually be a mature clan full of mature gamers rather than a clan made up of a bunch of 10 year olds, thus not directed to any clan in particular. I think it was a good idea to make this.
