Hi there! If you're reading this thread, chances are you may have an interest in joining our clan. This thread will fully explain how to apply such that you have the best chance of acceptance.

Firstly, you must understand what SPQR is all about. To help with that, I recommend talking to us on IRC and lurking our forum. Once you've decided you wish to apply, copy the following and create a new thread in "Recruitment".

Code: Select all
• About yourself (40+ words):
• Skype:
• E-mail/facebook:
• In-game name:
• Time zone:
• Why do you want to join the clan (20+ words):

If your application does not meet our requirements it will not be considered. Applications that are almost there but not quite will be requested once to be changed and fixed, and failure to do so within a reasonable time frame will lead to flat-out denial.

If you're confident your application is up to par, post it.

Once this is done, Tin, Scipion, Kodiak and Saxbassman will look into your application and come to a decision together and, generally, get back to you within one week (7 days) from the time your application was posted. This is by no means a hard limit; it can be longer or shorter, depending on your history with our clan and the quality of your application.

During this period we'll be doing some background checks on you and your character, but don't worry. Even some of the leadership have a dubious history in the Ace of Spades community and we appreciate the fact that people are able to change. If there are any "bad" things we may want to know about, it is always better to simply say them either in your application or PM us, as we value honesty over having to go "digging for dirt", so to speak.

Also, during this period it is not only expected, but mandatory that you visit the IRC regularly. This is very simple to do and Kodiak has written a guide on how to connect here

SPQR clan IRC Channel - http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=%23SPQR

Another great, but optional way of communication is Mumble, a free VoIP (Voice) program found here: http://mumble.sourceforge.net
The server we currently use is Enari's "minit.nu", the port is the default port. Look for "SPQR" under "Clans".
Hopping on Mumble to speak to us is a surefire way to bring your application to the forefront of our minds.

It is also a wise idea to read all the rules being an SPQR member requires you to adhere to, they are mostly simple, common-sense rules which help create the best, most positive clan community.

Rules
#1 Play for fun
#2 Don't insult other players and other members
#3 Don't grief
#4 Don't hack
#5 Be an active member
#6 Don't spam the SMG, appreciate all the AoS weapons.
#7 Don't "clan hop"
#8 Don't cause unnecessary drama
#9 No multi-clanning
If you break any of these rules, you will be punished and a kicking from the clan may be possible, depending on which rule was broken and the severity of the offence.

I think all that needs to be said has been said. Good luck on your application!
