In-Game Recruiting Style

Postby Dracolth » Thu Jul 19, 2012 7:45 pm

So recently, our recruitment page hasn't been as active. The people that do apply claim to have found us on the forums while browsing...or by viewing how [DELTA] members are so "1337 H4X0r prO" at the game that inspire them. I'd say we have to bump up our recruitment style. If so, I would like to have some people within [DELTA] to start actively going on servers (any servers) and searching for potential talent. However, I wouldn't like people to just invite every top person on each team to join [DELTA] and give some obscure details about the benefits. I want us to be able to judge whether or not this person is mature or a "OMG LOL I TOTALLY GOT U PWNBURGER!!1!!111!" player. Also, be sure to check his ratio with the /ratio (NAME) command. You have no idea how many times I've been fooled by someone having 180 kills but has a K/D of 0.36. Try playing with him, seeing if he has compatibility with his teammates, does he make an effort to choose actions that benefit the team, etc. Then once you consider this character to be A-OK, extend our welcome to let him join us. Don't talk like: "Dude, you're good you should join [DELTA]" No, this is the generic recruitment policy and will make you seem like a try-hard from a mediocre clan. Go for a format such as "Man, I notice you have some great qualities that you use to benefit your team and I would like to have you browse our forums section sometime to see if you can relate with the rest of us to make up your decision whether or not to apply for our clan. If not, I totally respect that and that's cool. :) "

Thus ends mini-rant.
