Target practice

Got a great new idea for the game?

Target practice

Postby lolpwned23 » Wed Jan 18, 2012 3:10 am

Well, many new players, and possibly some veterans, woul like to practice.

So I think there should be a small arena filled with targets of moving dummys,

There should also be a tutorial map for newcomers. In this map it explains how to use each item.

I think this will help improve the game tremendously.

Well it's the best chance for you to learn how to shoot back then, and quickly.

The point is that I have never seen more than 1 good player at a time, so if you want to slaughter deuces by the hundreds that is the place to go. You can literally just walk between the spawns and kill everyone in the way and get +100 kills an hour. Barring you encountering that 1 good player that is.

That is false. As far as I know, probably half the ppl on Goon Haven are noobs or just builders, but the other half are usually above average players or good players. I usually play on Goon Haven 1, and given the complete map balance that is given to both teams, it proves a very level playing field. And also, it's not that hard for even a noob to point and shoot, so if you rush into their base someone will notice and go for you. And although someone might be a good player, if their team's performance is hampered by the other team, often they will not live up to their skill as they usually do otherwise.

I have to disagree - to me GH is the definition of average. I just played a game there, and 10 people on each team had <10 kills. But hey I'm not silly, I can't judge people on their killcount alone, maybe that just joined and got 10 kills in as many seconds! So after a 10 minutes or so there was only 3 people who had gained more than 10 kills. Honestly it is kind of pathetic to me. Even the guy with 100 kills only gained 5 kills in the time it took me to get to 50. His ratio was only 2.65...
Only 1 player had >4 KDR.

Anyone who played just then, yes there was a few guys from my clan who had >100 and way higher KDR than that, but it is kind of unfair to count them.

Seems like this would take more time and work then it would be worth at the moment. You might try suggesting a type of tutorial map when the full game comes out though.
... I was gone for a month and came back to a game that hadn't changed a bit.
