New spade feature

Ok, this is kind of a long shot, but im going for it.

I know most of us have run out of ammo and have been behind enemy lines with the intel. You try to make a run for it and you get your head blown off.

So, what if you could have a chance of deflecting bullets?

There should be a 25% chance that when you swing your spade it deflects the bullet away from you.
Of course this would only be useful against the rifle and shotgun.

Please leave your thoughts of yes or no and why.

I totally agree with that i have been killed so MANY TIMES!

I think there is one mod for that but i can't remember where it's at and the last time someone used it they got ip kicked.

ip kicked = banned for life without new username or password

There *was* a pretty interesting topic in the old forums about holding blocks to deflect/absorb shots, but it and everything else in the old forum was annihilated without warning.

OT: better for blocks to do it than a spade, as then you have a balance of ability to attack vs ability to be attacked. Doing it with spades would lead to a lot of people just running around with spades trying to get as many melee kills as they can while deflecting shots. With blocks, it's entirely offensive or defensive- not both simultaneously.

I like the general idea, and it would give the spade more uses. However I think it should only deflect bullets in front of you (obviously) and less times. 25% is too much. Maybe 5%?

Semi bullet would go through the spade.

Shotgun would knock it out of your hands.

SMG would only be affected by it.

Yep. It wouldn't feel too unrealistic and wouldn't also make you look too stupid that way. Also, I wouldn't like to see people running forward swinging their spade while at it, and in a bad luck you're the one who will get shot after all.

Defending yourself with a block makes pretty much sense. Doesn't it cover you quite nicely when placed, anyway?
