OpenGL, do we REALLY want it?

Got a great new idea for the game?

What do you think of OpenGL?

OpenGL looks like crap.

Well, my current PC probably couldn't handle it, but I'm getting a new one within the next week, so I don't really care. :\

Overall, I want, but is not required for me.

@TheOperator:
Comments about styling are really not valid since it's a work in progress.
It's not finished yet, lots of things to change and polish up. I look forward to the finished product.
After that I can start criticising it properly.

It SHOULD run faster if your computer has any type of graphics acceleration.

In my opinion, speed wasn't sacrificed for higher quality in making the engine OpenGL, which should make it a perfect client.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

IF your computer can handle it, then your hope should get higher.

I can run AoS spades at 70FPS so hopefully i can

lol i only have 50-60 FPS

i thought this was going to be crap is but it actually is pretty awesome! but instead of the blocks fading away when you destroy them, they should still fall apart.

The keyword here is if. Not everyone has a card capable of hardware acceleration. I know my old pc didn't. This isn't really a problem as long as it's client-side toggleable, of course.

Hmm, my computer should run it just fine, so it's okay for me. Wonder what's it gonna do for the others, I can't just grab this game into other random places anymore.
I mean, like in our high school's computers in the computer room. They don't seem to have OpenGL system stuff installed in them.

hey if it makes the game look as impressive as it does in this video, i want it. no more bounded squares.

I noticed, in the video however. there is no particles. or shading. which is kind of bad in my opinion. but the players and guns look awesome.

About the Client-side toggeable, would users of the OpenGL client be able to enter servers with the old engine?
