Got a great new idea for the game?

Huh... I could have sworn there was a hit marker sound in an older version of the game. I thought you guys wanted to get rid of it originally. Didn't it sound the same as when you died? I can't remember honestly.
... I was gone for a month and came back to a game that hadn't changed a bit.

Just play with the sound on but the admins should get logs of player shots so tyey can ketch hackers

I don't think a sound would be necessary, maybe a little circle around the target for confirmation of a hit though, I would like to see that.

Yup, that would be enough for me.. don't need hitbeeps, just saying either one would be fine.

How about instead of a little circle there could be a visible blood splatter when you hit an enemy?

Um.. there is..
It's not exactly visible at range tho, so it doesn't help in that case..
If you're not sure you hit something, when you're close enough to see blood.. perhaps you should be building stuff instead. :P

Mainly because of immersion - for me hit markers fall in the same category of gamey stuff like "doublekill!", "m-m-m-multikill!", "rampage!", hp-bars, highlighting target, ect.

Of course if I can turn it off, and it doesn't screw my gameplay too much (like increase lag by adding yet another info sent from server), I don't give a duck.
