What this game really needs is for people to grow up and not waltzing in and demanding something without giving a proper explination of how it would work or why it would be useful...

Personally I would only like to see pistols if they were massivley underpowered, to the point where people only really use them as a last resort. I dont see pistols being neccarcary as they would promote more crappy run and gun gameplay.

The developers know how to code.. if they didn't, they wouldn't be developers..
That puts it down to 'do they want it or not', and at the moment they have a fairly stable plan for 1.0, and 0.xx isn't having new features planned for it anymore. Helicopters were created as a quick test, but it's uncertain whether they'll actually be implemented at all.
In my opinion, vehicles are unneeded, they're also on the 'Do Not Suggest List' (DNSL) because they have been suggested before. If you really wanted to have brought up debate about them, looking in that thread and posting in the correct topic would have been the way to go.
Also, adding things 'because you think they would be cool' isn't also the best philosophy. Anything that's added will impact the gameplay, and stuff like vehicles would have a huge impact, and at least in my view, an unneeded massive change.
