Well, im writing this to get a little input from the community.
As we all know, the terrain in this game is not quite land vehicle friendly, just imagine the sight of seeing a jeep running up and down the rough terrain. Also, there are not many water bodies in the game. (a river? BIT*H PLEASE!)

But there is only one way of transportation left in my opinion then.
Helicopters (as this is no tribes, so no jetpacks 4 u).
So, i think that by the time game will have passed version 1.xx it will propably have support for dynamic-destructable models (think of this like a player model with parts of it destroyable, e.g. arm).
So implementing a helicopter with actual space inside (not just press "e", but walk into the cockpit, same for passengers)

So i would like the community to list all the pros and cons to this idea here, and maybe just give your opinion.
This is not really meant to discuss how balanced this would be, just pros and cons. (no "it should have x health" discussions)

Pros:
Vehicles in the game, doesn't even matter if with or without guns,
which would allow for great tactical possibilities.
Immersion, just think of flying inside the actual cockpit and seeing the chopper get damaged,
and when it is shot down, maybe it even becoming a part of map. (a chopper wreck would be awesome).

Cons:
People will troll - they will simply find a way
To code this, devs will have to use large amounts of coffee (coffee * time = lines of code :P)
This might be imbalanced, as people MIGHT find a way to spread destruction on enemy spawn (no guns on the chopper, and modest health, perhaps, not to discuss balance too much)

I simply like the idea of this:
imagine flying around the bridge on that giant map in a chopper with your friends emptying clips into enemies, then dropping them off in the middle, and building a makeshift cover. Seeing, as enemy machine gun fire tears up the side of cockpit, trying to lift up, just to get shot by and AA weapon (RPG perhaps :P) and slowly losing control of the chopper.
Crashing inside the side of the bridge, chopper actually sticking to the wall, getting fall damage and tunneling inside the bridge (chopper does not crash to ground when hits horizontal surface, it sticks to it and everyone inside takes fall damage <50% chance of it falling down, getting destroyed?).
If that wouldn't be epic, i dont know what would.

IMHO AoS is a game with HUGE potential, it should draw inspiration from BF series, and maybe, one day we will have vehicles and territory mode will be more popular.

1. Im no great fan of Aos vehicles but im laming right now so i will give some ideas (much ideas)

2. For me if something aos needs that is ( explosive weapons , Heavy Machine guns ( HMG) , Weapons balance , Pistol , and that open GL is awesome and so on and (dont rage its my view) Killstreaks but not to cod-ish maybe airstrike medkit/ammo box drop and so small things )

Ps. Vehicles must be build they doesn't spawn random so you have that engineer tool from BF 2 i dont knew its name and start building first you see a Shade/vehicle and a percent bar when building that takes some time like 2 min or faster if teammates help.

Land vehicles would be glitchy and ugly. So please, can we please just not discuss them?

Vehicles would not really be balanced at all, it would require a huge shift to make them even plausible. We would need anti-vehicle weapon which probably means implementing explosive weapons, unless you are fine with shooting down a tank with a rifle.

It is a huge headache and leaves a bad taste in my mouth to even think about Ace of Spades with vehicles.


If the game had been made differently from the start, then it could have had vehicles. But I like Ace of Spades as a competitive clan orientated game.

This game wasn't made for vehicles. If you want a war game with guns, go buy battlefield 3. End of story. No if ands or buts about it, this isn't going to happen.

I think the maps are too small for vehicles, if they would be added what would be the point, it's a waste to code vehicles if you could easily walk without any sweat the distance, it would make sense if the map was larger, but thats maybe for another suggestion.
