Cannot connect to server on startup.

Hello my name is SpartaMan222, I have never played Ace of Spades because of a few problems.

I have been trying to play AoS on the Mac (OS X Mountain Lion).

When I start up AoS I get a error pop up saying 'Failed to connect to server'.

Is that normal? Am I supposed to do something?

Sorry if this seams like a dumb question.

You should sorry for like, infinite times because that's a really, really dumb question.

Oh, just rejoin the server. If you still can't, join other server.

No, When I don't do anything, with a clean install of AoS promptly comes up with the message. Am I doing it wrong?
