For some strange reason, I cannot change my name??

Hey there.
I have been playing AoS for a long time now, but have always been able to willingly change my name via the config file. Lately, I went to enter the initials of my clan before my name, in order to change it, and it didn't work. I tried everything: Deleted the config, Re-installed AoS, Deleted Aos and installed again, copied the files and edited them in a folder called Ace of Spades... I even played with the config file on my desktop, and the name was still Seanny...
I want to change my name from Seanny to [WAR}Seanny, yet I cant....

Please, any help ? :)

Is there a specific server you're trying to play on?

The only situation that I can think that would cause such behavior is if you had more than one ace of spades installed.

Run a search for a kv6 folder (I don't think there are many programs that could contain such a folder) and check where it is located.

I tried on about 4 servers Pyro.

Salina: I thought that, but what I did was I used task manager to go to the process of the ace of spades I had open, and it is the same directory of the location of the config file...

That's indeed strange then. You did not mention if the changes you made in config stay (your name there is [WAR}Seanny} or if they revert back to Seanny. If it's the latter try forcing it to 'read-only' if the former... then I'm stumped.

It does change to the new name. Same here I have no idea what to do ... xD

Let's hope someone with more know-how chime in.

I still can't imagine that client.exe would accept info from somewhere else than config.ini in the same folder that it is.
I'd try to remove all instances of ace of spades untill you cannot connect to any server at all (due to there not being any program, not the usual "unable to connect blah blah"). *sigh* You probably did that though
