Installing & Moving game from a different computer.

Postby EGRO » Fri Mar 02, 2012 5:49 am

Hi, I can install AoS on one computer, and can ONLY move the files from the other one, I can't use the installer.
So after moving I think I have the same AoS server Number as the other computer's. Not this ones. I would know if I HAVE to install it on the computer I want to set up the server on or not.

I think it depends if you're using the vanilla server or pyspades' featured server.
The vanilla server needs its config file and the client.exe to run (I think), alternatively you could use the latest pyspades featured server which is in the 'downloads' on the left hand side there.

<@mikuli> the bad part in this plan is that it involves an already busy tea-drinking scone chomper with a monocle

Are you referring to your server number (as in aos://xxxxxxxxx)? If so, that is based on your external IP address, not a local one. Changing between computers will not change the URL as long as you are on the same network.
