Local pinging thingy doesn't work. Most of America servers are shown with low ping though I live in east Europe. And When I join those servers they have lag over 9000.

In-game ping will slightly differ due to it using two different methods/protocols.

There was a bug with inaccurate local pinging that has been fixed for the next release.

The initial pings are relative to the master server (located in the US). Hence what local pining is for.

That's what the ping option is for.

Spadille 1.5.1 (latest public version) only sends 1 ICMP packet to the server and displays the result (if successful).

Spadille 1.5.2 will instead send 4 ICMP packets and calculate the average of the successful responses.

A few things that should be noted:

  • If the remote server has ICMP disabled, then the displayed ping will not change (as in it will continue displaying the ping relative to the master server).
  • The in-game ping does not use ICMP, so there may be some slight differences in pings. But the ICMP based ping is the same as if you were to go into command prompt and ping the server yourself. Maybe at some point there will be a proper UDP datagram set up so it'll be more reliable.
  • You can choose to preserve local pings in between serverlist refreshes in the settings (should be enabled by default).
  • You can ping all the visible servers in the list by clicking View->Update Pings.

It appears I have problems when copying some textures and sounds in the mod manager, it says that the sound/texture I am copying in the main folders of AoS are being used by another program and I have nothing else open. Please help, here is the error message if it helps:

Do you currently have the game running while trying to copy sounds?
