The video is unrehearsed and the bots' paths are completely unscripted.
The reason I'm being assaulted by creepers is that weapon usage is a whole different chapter I haven't started on yet. Barring AI-initiated construction pathfinding should be the hardest task, so progress should pick up soon! Could've made spade-berserk deuces instead but this seemed much more fun. Fluttershy made the awesome skins :)
Computer controlled players are able to get around in any 'normal' map you throw at them. I picked Shaft because Jojoe's trees, cramped buildings and hilly geography make it some of the hardest to navigate.
Technical stuff
Pathfinding right now is extremely fast and reacts to changes in the environment in real time. Agents (bot players) upon being assigned a mission draw a broad plan that covers the whole map. Local obstacle avoidance is then performed along the way on every step of the path.
This means that save for extreme cases like a Bridge Wars bridge going down, they should always be able to avoid a hole or jump a player-created obstacle.
