Rigs of rods - best car crash simulator

Postby mcape6 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 4:04 pm

I found this game last year and boy was it awesome!
So basically its a driving simulator (freeware) that hosts tones of cars, trucks and planes, and has the best crash physics i have ever seen in a game. if you hit a pole, the pole will leave a mark in your car......pole shaped! With slow-motion feature and the game being freeware, it makes this a keeper!

Check out destruction of cars on you tube as-well.

That game is pure gold!

I love flying the Antonov 12 as high as I can and then nose diving as fast as I can into the city, I sometimes park several trucks at the place were i'm going to crash to make it even more nicer.

i think that the plane is hard to ruin! i crashed it straight in the ground after picking up sizable speed and it didn't do anything but screw up the flying!

My buddy is obsessed with this thing. I'd might give it a try when I get back home.

Well, the game has an unique idea and if you install the content pack (which adds LOTS of vehicles) then it might even be fun, except for one thing... PERFORMANCE!
You will need at least Quad-Core(+1,8Ghz), 4GB of Ram and GeForce GTX series video card to run this thing smoothly with all of the graphics maxed out. And also, some of the cars are really hard to drive (because the sedan keeps banging on the road with its bottom and sidewalks with its bumper :/).
Other than that, the cars feel natural, the physics are awesome (most of the time) and there is plenty of fun to be had.

A tip: GET THE CONTENT PACK! AND A NEW VIDEO CARD, WHILE YOU ARE AT IT! :capslockoff:

Also: shutting up because i have caused some annoyances lately.
