I seen my brother play all the way through this, and it was cool.

So, I'm going to bump this with a suggestion for a discussion:

The old fight: AMR vs Gauss Rifle vs Gobi Campaign Rifle

I myself rather use the Gobi Campaign Rifle. I really liked the Gauss Rifle in FO3, but because in FNV guns are so much more important, common and generally useful, at least IMO, the Gobi gets the cheese. The AMR's ammo, and the gun itself, are really, really expensive, even with a high barter. The first time I've bought it, I spend almost 70% of my Bottle caps. Also, the repair is insane. For every shot, it's value goes 17 caps down.

I find myself using the Ratslayer early to end game.
Or I use the trail repeater/hunting rifle.
With my play style I find myself doing loads of damage with low-end weapons, Saves me a lot of caps.

Unless you're playing on hard-very hard as I do, you'll find as soon as you can get your hands on a Service rifle and upgrade it with all the mods, it'll take down damn near anything you want quite quickly. Have any of you tried the Wasteland Defense mod?

I love the Service Rifle.
But everyone says it's crap. :C

I went:
Armor: Combat
Primary: Service rifle
Secondary: 10MM pistol
Melee: Combat knife

I found it was a good build but it got boring doing the same thing.
Oh, and Hardcore FTW.

Well, the All-American is my favorite all-around gun(sorry for the pun :c). The Gobi is more when I want to take larger targets (e.g Deathclaws) or when I want to go messing around. I find the Service Rifle to be a really reliable and useful weapon until mid-high levels. Fully-modded, it's serviceable(again, sorry) life is really extended, but at the end levels I find it kinda weak.

The thing I like about the Service Rifle is it's low requirements.
I like being able to put points in something I need and still be able to use a good weapon.

If FNV had multiplayer (I know you FO purists hate this idea) it'd be totally awesome to play with you guys. Just curious, what platform do you play on?

I play on PS3, but my FNV disc was stolen :c
I heard about some kind of Fallout Online some time ago, but I never took interest for it. Did anyone else here heard about it?

Project 16 I think it's called, Still being worked on. I don't think it's anywhere close to being done.
It's on the Fallout wiki.
