Remove the 10-character limit in the Off-topic subforum

Postby Paratrooper » Thu May 24, 2012 2:22 am

It encourages more spam in an already spam-filled place. This is especially true for the "Forum Games" subsection.
To a Physicist, white and black is the presence and absence of color.
To a Fine Artist, white and black are just shades and tints of color.
To a Painter, any paint that you could get into a can is a color.
THIS color, on the other hand, is #b4d455.

Yeah, it really does. I don't know if this is possible or if it's a global setting, but this would very much help out Forum Games. I mean, I can't warn everyone who has appended a forum games post to meet the character limit.

meh, i think "k" and such 1-2 character posts should be warn and bannable, even without character limit. Its called off topic, not spam here.

Forum Games is the most in need of the removal of this. As for the other sections, it can stay.

Why not judge them on a case by case basis? If someone says "I'll organize the clan match for monday ok?" and a person replies "k" then isn't that fine? (for example)

Its a good idea, but it would require a fair bit of man power, assuming I understood your post correctly. It would make some of the lesser understanding people of the community say

"Wat did I du? AoS admins are unfair! I'm gonna bag the shit out of it, and rage, then make a youtube clip about it"

Also, people just bypass the character limit by typing "Your message contains <> characters. The minimum number of characters you need to enter is 10" after their message.

Some people have bypassed the limit, using certain methods *winkwink* BOOYO *winkwink*. A few others have as well, including me, but most don't, and while its effective, it sort of clutters up posts.
