I think mikuli's point is that Spoiler tags aren't used to hide spoiling details. Rather, they would just be used to shrink the size of the post.

Maybe rename it something else other than spoiler?

On another forum I use we simply call them 'hide' tags.

Why are we renaming something that has been called this for YEARS? Do we want to rename bold because it is often used for emphasis rather than showing that you are making a bold statement? Seriously renaming something because it isn't used for what it's name describes is kind of silly. It's a standard name and it's better to stick with standards unless you have a damn good reason.

to be honest, where I go they are more often called hide tags than spoiler tags, so I don't think it's really renaming them at all.
