Actual +1 for posts

I've seen this similar feature in various forums, and personally I pretty much like it.

If you're not very familiar with it, it's a some kind of a "like" for a post. If you somewhat like or support the post's content, you can just simply hit that "+1" button in the corner, or where ever it is. Your +1 will be displayed underneath that +1'd post.

Just a little nice addition that won't do bad things to the forum itself, I believe. I don't know if it's possible to implement into this forum code style thing, though.

Any +1's for this idea?

I agree with TheGrandmaster. Lots of times this is used for the joy of +1'ing an interesting quote and or such.

I was in a forum with a similar system,but with -1 too.

Goddamit,someone simply created some 20 fakes and started to -1 every single post.
Two days later,the Karma system was removed.

Not karma, just +1 which is similar to "liking" on facebook. It is post based, you like a post not an account. It is not tracked, just when people see a post they can like it rather than posting "+1"

Also I can't see our current community would do all that work for 5+ accounts and use them just to give more +1's than once.

So long as there is no record on your account of how many thumbs up you have gotten ever then people probably wouldnt bother.

Besides that: "You must have 10 posts in order to +1 a post" or something

Dear TheGrandMaster, TheGeekZeke101 and ChaosTLW,

Karma on forums is very useless. If it's for anything, it's just to tell friends "good post!" without having to post. It saves a lot of space, and makes for an overall better forum community.
